Tithing: Biblical Principles of Giving

Tithing, giving the first tenth to God, appears throughout Scripture, from Abraham to Jesus. It expresses trust in God as provider and supports those dedicated to ministry.

"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse... and prove me now herewith" (Malachi 3:10)

Note: Tithing predates the Mosaic Law by 430+ years. Abraham gave tithes to Melchizedek (Genesis 14:20). Unlike ceremonial sacrifices that ended at the cross, tithing reflects an eternal principle: acknowledging God as the true owner of all we have. Jesus affirmed it should continue: "these ought ye to have done" (Matthew 23:23).
